Ornithologia II. Captured. This tryptic poster series continues the notion of captured and capturing. Audobon before had pioneered the capture of birds through hand drawing and etching. He had captured birds in moments in time that previously had not been experienced before allowing the general public a glimpse at birds previously only seen in brief instances. It was a form of capture that was not physical but allowed for a new experience for each of these birds to be studied. This project, through the use of high speed photography, attempts to recreate some of those same experiences in contemporary terms.
